iDerm was founded on a simple but powerful idea: that skin health deserves more than a quick diagnosis and a prescription. Too many patients spend years managing symptoms without ever getting to the root cause and Dr Lisa Connelly built iDerm to change that.

Meet Dr. Lisa Connelly

MD (USA) · FAAD · FRACP · Specialist Dermatologist

Dr Elizabeth "Lisa" Alvarez Connelly brings over 20 years of specialist dermatology experience to Taranaki — and a genuinely rare depth of expertise. Trained across some of the United States' leading medical institutions, Lisa completed her Dermatology Residency at the University of Minnesota and her Paediatric Dermatology Fellowship at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego before making New Zealand home.

She is one of only a handful of paediatric dermatologists in New Zealand, and the only one based in New Plymouth — making iDerm a destination clinic for families across the central North Island.

Lisa's approach is integrative by nature. She takes the time to understand each patient's full picture — their skin, their lifestyle, their goals — and builds treatment plans that work holistically, not just symptomatically.

    1995-1999 - Medical Doctor - University of Miami School of Medicine, Miami, Florida USA.

    1999-2003 - Dermatology Residency - University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota USA.

    2003-2004 - Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship - Rady Children’s Hospital / University of San Diego, San Diego, California USA.

    2017 - Vocational registration with certification as Specialist Dermatologist, New Zealand.
